I might be interested in this actually, sounds like a really good way to improve. How much is something like this likely to lighten my wallet?

a quick scout of airlines and ferry companies leads me to the conclusion

fly rent (4people) 800(flights) 600 (car) for a grand total of 350/head

ferry (4 people) 1000-1200 (ferry) plus extra fuel/tolls for around a total of 1400 or 350/head (lots of additional travel time though  +plus restricted dates for long haul ferry services)

now you could get lucky on the flights (i saw one that was about 140/head) but don't count on it.

this was looking at preliminary dates sat 7th jun - sat/sun 21/22nd jun

expect another 100/head fuel and tolls
100/head camping fees
350/head eat drink spending cash...

for a grand total of around of around 900 bills (budget a grand for safety)

these are very conservative numbers. people have been known to get away with it for a lot less... :)

but with the change in prices re inflation/fuel costs/flight costs where we used to look at doing it for 750ish in 2004, things have gotten more expensive...

Cheers, sounds like a plan to me.
Which country does it look like this trip is heading towards? I can definately get away with it for  a lot less, all i have to do is not eat anything for a few weeks, it'll do wonders for my figure..

Now where the fuck did my tent go..

Will the club be allowed to lend gear. Remember will are still under a voluntary ban on equipment used for private trips.  Mark any update?

Therefore people may need to think soon about getting their own gear or borrowing from other sources.

Check www.snd-kayak.com

If Argentiere is the first place we go to, this shop is only down the road. I got my helmet there and I got a discount because I'm Irish.

OUch, yeah. I don't think I've ever seen a website where I had to look through a mostly blank page to find the content. Perhaps you should give them your number Kyle..

The stuff looks good though, much better selection than GODS etc. noticably cheaper too..

Your helmet? That crazy 'turtle-dudes-from-Super-Mario' style one? Nice

Where did that other post go? Just because I was obnoxious didn't mean I wasn't interested?
